A material-first
design story.
This is not recycled-content branding. The substrate is trash — plastic that would have ended in the ocean, in landfill, or scattered uncollected — recovered, refined, and authored into a substrate comparable to quality timber, immune to rot, salt, fungus, and the passage of time.
Three acts
From waste origin to heirloom object.
The lifecycle
From waste stream
to heirloom.
Twelve verifiable steps from the moment a piece of plastic is intercepted to the moment your great-grandchildren still own the chair it became.
- 01
Catching the plastic
River interceptors, coastal recovery, resort MSW collection, landfill diversion — the local Reprox hub gathers what was destined to be discarded.
- 02
Landing the plastic
Bonded transport to the local Reprox processing hub. Proximity matters — the shorter the trip, the smaller the footprint of cleanup.
- 03
Sorting the polymers
Hand- and AI-sorted by polymer family — HDPE2 streams isolated for furniture grade.
- 04
Recycling to billet
Washed, shredded, melt-extruded into dense REPROXIMA composite — zero chemicals, zero binders, zero bleach.
- 05
Compliance testing
Independently tested for fire, leach, structural load, UV, salt and freeze cycles.
- 06
Creating the material
The Plasmar 50-year-durability composite is certified — comparable to quality timber, immune to rot and time.
- 07
Stock & profile
Cut to architectural billets, sheets, and structural profiles ready for the workshop.
- 08
Designing the piece
SC1 Armchair, SC2 Sofa, VIP Table Collection, and Civic & Street — engineered for global standards, Caribbean soul.
- 09
Manufacturing at scale
Made@Scale decentralized factory blueprints deliver high-volume reliability — at the hub, not in a faraway capital.
- 10
Unboxing
Each piece arrives with a Provenance ID linking it to the river, reef, resort, or community its material came from.
- 11
In your space
50+ years of structural service. Surfaces that warm with age. Lifetime support.
- 12
Continuing the cleanup
End-of-life takeback closes the loop — every piece is melt-recoverable into the next generation of REPROXIMA stock.
The Inaugural Collection
Designed to be
wanted forever.
The first Reproxima pieces — engineered with Made@Scale in Johannesburg, designed with Stephen Pimbley, and built toward a global trade launch at Salone del Mobile, Milan, April 2027.
Provenance ID
Every piece carries its origin.
A small monospace tag on every Reproxima piece links its material back to the specific waste stream, location, and recovery date. Backed by third-party material testing and a registered audit trail. The Plasmar 50-year-durability composite is independently certified for fire, leach, structural load, UV, salt, and freeze cycles. Embodied carbon reported per unit annually from Year 2 of production. Third-party sustainability certification target: 2028.
